Celebrating Summer at Fig & Olive

Celebrating Summer at Fig & Olive

IMG_1353Oh.. Summer! How are you here already? I could have swore it was Christmas not too long ago! Today, I wanted to give you readers some 411 on Fig & Olive's tasty new summer menu. For those unfamiliar with Fig & Olive, this French restaurant is located in prime LA real-estate on Melrose Place. Remember the tv show? The Melrose location in West Hollywood is their West Coast flagship location. It is absolutely gorgeous with double height ceilings, enclosed patio filed with rosemary plants, and a 50 foot tasting bar! So what's new on the menu and most importantly... what should you order?IMG_1359Fig & Olive has amazing crostini. I tried the Manchebo with fig, macron almond, Octopus with hummus, pimentos, Prosciutto with ricotta, fig, olive, walnut, Pea topped with asparagus, ricotta, lemon, thyme, the Burrata with tomato, pesto, balsamic, and the Goat Cheese with caramelized onion, chive. Rosemary lamb chops with ricotta gnocchi and braised honey eggplant all served in a glass dome. This absolutely hit the spot. Not only was it delicious and cooked to a perfect medium rare, but the presentation on this was Insta-worthy! I know you guys agree because this video has been viewed over 25,000 times since I posted this.

Fig & Olive's founder, Laurent Halasz, grew up in Mougins, in the South of France. Their signature dishes include Grilled Branzino glazed with a fig balsamic vinegar, served with figs and snow peas finished with a sweet Picholine Olive Oil; and Grilled Lamb Chops smoked with a bouquet of Herbs de Provence and finished with a Rosemary Olive Oil. In addition to food, they have an exception wine list as well as some quality olive oil for purchase at the restaurant. And with Dine LA beginning in just a few days there's some great deals to take advantage of!
