Din Tai Fung Comes To Orange County

Din Tai Fung Comes To Orange County

I was so excited to get to taste test the new South Coast Plaza Din Tai Fung Dumpling House before it was opened to the public. This South Coast Plaza DTF location is gorgeous. The staff is well trained and there's also multiple items that are special and unique that you can't find at the Arcadia locations. It's well worth the trek to Orange County to try the new Din Tai Fung. IMG_1958Here's what I ate. If you count correctly, that's 14 dishes! Insane! Well, I'm here to report that I actually had 15 dishes. I don't even know how I'm still standing right now. I'm drooling now looking back at all these pictures!

Honestly, every dish was on point. Let me tell you which dishes really stood out for me. The seaweed and bean curd appetizer was such a refreshing good start to our meal. I would go back for that. I was absolutely blown away by the hot and sour soup. I normally don't like hot and sour soup because it tastes too Americanized after the chefs get their hands on it. The dish tasted authentic and the flavors and texture were great. Blown away! Also, big ups to the braised beef noodle soup. On point. I was just so pleased with the meal. This restaurant will be replacing the Arcadia location for me. Finally, a DTF location that is on par with the international ones.

Thank you to Wener and South Coast Plaza for having me. You can visit the Din Tai Fung in South Coast Plaza now too. It's officially open to the public.  Din Tai Fung is located at 3333 Bristol St, Costa Mesa, CA 92626 (right next to Sears). IMG_1985
