Emmys 2015 Viewing Party with Patina Group
Two years ago, I was on the scorching hot red carpet reporting at the Emmys. This Emmys, I'm was fellow awesome media influencers relaxing at Cafe Pinot at a Emmy viewing party. It's so much more fun watching the Emmys when you're not working in 103 degree weather.
Patina Group has been plating the Emmys for the last 2o years and today, I was invited to sit back, relax, and enjoy myself. For those that haven't been to Cafe Pinot, it is located adjacent to Downtown LA's public library. They serve a contemporary Californian-French menu featuring seasonal dishes inspired by the farmers' market.
How gorgeous was the setup? This was more beautiful than many of the weddings I've been to this year. Turns out, Cafe Pinot is actually a popular wedding venue. It showed because their table settings looked like a page ripped off Pinterest.
So beautiful. I literally felt like I was at my wedding or something. Did Cafe Pinot sneak a peek at my secret wedding Pinterest board or something? How did they know?
Cafe Pinot's grilled peach and heirloom tomato salad with pomegranate vinaigrette. This was such a refreshing starter. It was 103 outside so this was very appropriate. I loved the grilled peach!
For my entree, I had the beef tenderloin with caramelized Maitake mushroom, roasted summer squash, Japanese eggplant caviar, and red red wine bordelaise. The center was pink. Thank goodness! I always say if it doesn't look like it was just mooing, I don't want it. Overdone meat is the worse.
For dessert, I licked my plate clean of the ganache brownie with caramel cracking and baby Bourbon caramel. Yummy!
Thanks for having us Patina! We had such a great time. I'll definitely be back soon. Congrats to all the amazing Emmy nominees and winners. I hope next year we can bring open up the door more for more diversity in Hollywood.
