What to Eat in Hollywood, Part 2
In my latest installment of What to Eat in Hollywood, I wanted to introduce two other exciting and tasty eateries that tourists and locals alike can enjoy! Being a local Angeleno, sometimes we don't give ourselves enough time to go out and explore Hollywood. We think we've seen it all just cause we live here.
CLEO AT THE REDBURY: Cleo's is a trendy eatery in the Redbury Hotel named after the Egyptian queen, Cleo. You know if they name a restaurant after Cleopatra, it better be good! That's royalty and you do not mess with royalty! Chef Danny Elmaleh serves up Mediterranean tapas like mezzes, shared plates, flatbreads and strong cocktails.
We started our meal with Hummus with Tahini. They also brought an order of hot, pillowy pita fresh from the oven (not pictured because I devoured it on the spot).
I always used to say that I was put on this earth to eat meat. Although I love me some salad and veggies, I classify them as rabbit food. But wow! Cleo's brussels sprouts is something that I would give up meat for. Yes, they're that good! Cleo's brussels sprouts is their secret recipe. Chef Danny did reveal that the delectable dish with filled with capers, almonds, cauliflower florets, French curry powder, and cashews. Amazing! Better and more addicting than chips!
Up next was Cleo's famous flatbreads! The flatbreads look and taste similar to thin crust pizza. They are delicious and very crispy. At Cleo's, the flatbreads are cut into big, jagged pieces. The specialty is the top left one loaded with artichoke, crushed potato, mozzarella and arugula leaves.
And of course no Mediterranean meal would be complete without falafel! At this point I was already very full, but of course the surprises kept on coming. I was led to the upstairs to a gorgeous "The Library" The Redbury @ Hollywood and Vine.
THE LIBRARY:
How amazing was the view of Hollywood and Vine from The Library? The Redbury is a boutique hotel with Cleo downstairs and The Library is the hotel bar upstairs. Talk about getting the party started!
Here's the private outdoor courtyard and bar surrounded by fire pits. The best part is you can even order food from Cleo's downstairs. I would love to hang out in the courtyard and have someone bring up those amazing Cleo's brussels sprouts.
The Library theme runs throughout the bar. The shelves are filed with books. I loved the ambiance. I can't wait to tell people next time that I need to run to the "Library" so I can sound super studious. To find out more about The Library, you can click here for more info.
