Kristie Hang is a freelance journalist, blogger, and TV host based in Los Angeles. She has written for CNN International and hosted segments that have appeared on Direct TV. She is regularly found on L.A. Weekly, CNN, Huffington Post, Buzz Feed, and other media sites. Kristie was also recently a guest speaker on a panel with Pulitzer-prize-winning food critic Jonathan Gold for Pasadena's Literature Fest. Kristie holds a Bachelors of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles, in Communication Studies and Asian Humanities and a Master's in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Southern California's Annenberg School of Journalism.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, she has lived in Hong Kong, Beijing, traveled extensively throughout Southeast Asia, and studied in Beijing at Tsinghua University. Kristie spends 3 months a year in Asia and has an affinity for bizarre foods. Whether it be yak meat, live octopus, or stir-fried bugs, she's always up for the challenge!
