Drink News Update

Hello, hungry friends! As the week draws to a close, I wanted to share some exciting drink news with you all to help give you some drinkspiration for the weekend! If you love Girl Scout cookies, then you've come to the right place. Thin Mints are my personal favorite Girl Scout cookie. I love buying a bunch each year and throwing them in the freezer! Yup, you heard that right! The freezer keeps the Thin Mints nice and cold. When I take them out to munch on, it becomes more like a chocolate treat than just a cookie. Give it a try if you haven't yet. But what other ways could you have Thin Mints?IMG_0904What about a Thin Mint milk shake? *Angels singing* Lazy Dog in Thousand Oaks has created this delicious Girl Scout Thin Mint Milk Shake. It's $4.95 and the best part is that $1 of each drink goes to the local Girl Scouts. Delicious and charitable. Not a bad combo! Unfortunately, there's no alcohol in the milk shake. That would really make things interesting! But the milk shake is very tasty and works for the whole family. If you can't make it out to Thousand Oaks, a really good dupe would be Arby's Andes Mint Chocolate Shakes which is another favorite drink of mine.

IMG_0832My other drink news update of the week is from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. This is one of the newest drinks out from Coffee Bean. This is the Iced Thai Tea Latte. The Thai Tea Latte didn't wow me. It definitely tasted "Westernized" to me. I presume it's because the ice diluted the flavor of the drink and also that the flavor just wasn't strong enough. So far, my local Vietnamese and Thai restaurants are one upping Coffee Bean's version. But of course, I had to test out every new drink out for you on the spring menu!IMG_1029The Thai Tea Iced Blended was much better than the latte. I'm a creature of habit though so it's weird for me to go to Coffee Bean and order an ice blended that isn't white chocolate or caramel! If you want to try the Thai Tea, I highly suggest getting the ice blended. Aside from Coffee Bean's new Thai Tea drinks, they are also adding Vanilla Rooibos Tea Latte and Vanilla Rooibos Ice Blended to their spring menu.IMG_1040Of course, being your go-to food blogger, I knew I had to try all the new drinks on the menu. On the left we have the Chai Ice Blended, (center) Thai Tea Ice Blended, and (right) Vanilla Rooibos Ice Blended. The Chai isn't a new menu item for spring, but it is one of the newer additions to the Coffee Bean menu so I wanted to get it just for reference. I'm personally not a fan of Chai Tea so it was like drinking any ice blended. If you like a warmly spiced flavor, then the Chai Tea Ice Blended may be your new drink. Vanilla Roobios is a South African red tea. If you're not a fan of rooibos tea's earthy, floral flavor, then you aren't going to love this. The rooibos is a caffeine-free treat though so if you don't want caffeine, you should give this a try.

This special spring menu will be available until May, but this Thursday, March, 12th from 2-6pm, any of the new small beverages are only $2!

Have you tried any of Coffee Bean's new drinks yet? Did you like their Thai Tea? Or their Roobios?
