Seasons 52

Seasons 52

I'm by no means a health freak. My brain usually associates healthy with blah so you can imagine how reluctant I was to try a restaurant that touts itself as healthy and low calorie. But as a food blogger, I try pretty much up for everything and anything that comes my way. Enter Seasons 52... a restaurant that serves organic, farm to table, and seasonal options. The menu changes every week and also per each season.

IMG_6354I took a deep breath and got to ordering. First up was the Crispy Prosciutto & Asparagus melted Camembert cheese, and chervil Flatbread. This completely exceeded my expectations. It tasted like a really thin crust pizza. You could really taste how fresh the ingredients were. The Prosciutto was mmm...mmm... good!

IMG_6410This is how big the order of Flatbread was! I didn't think I would be able to finish the whole thing. Spoiler alert! I was! Absolutely delicious! At this point in the meal, I was feeling much better about Seasons 52. I was actually very excited for the next dish.

IMG_6360Next up with the organic baby spinach with spring strawberries, toasted pine nuts, and crumbled gorgonzola cheese. This salad tasted very fresh as well. I love spinach and I love strawberries so this was a nice, refreshing snack. I couldn't even finish it all after that huge flatbread!

photo copyFor my main course, I ordered the Oak grilled rack of lamb with spring vegetables, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, and shallot jus. My mom and I have always been big lamb eaters, so anytime we're at a restaurant that serves lamb we always order it. For those that are afraid of ordering lamb due to its gamey taste, I can assure you that the lamb here did not have that. I ordered the rack of lamb done medium rare.

photoAt this point I was rolling on the floor from being so full, but upon checking out everyone else's tables I could tell they were ordering these pecuilar little mousse dessert things. They looked so good. My sweet tooth couldn't resist.

IMG_6408I got one of every single flavor to try for scientific purposes of course. If you aren't a pig like me, you can order each flavor individually. Most unbelievable was that every single one of the desserts were only 300ish calories each.

photo 1 copyThis Raspberry Chocolate Chip Cannoli was made of everything I love. No complaints here! Definitely can never go wrong with a cannoli!

photo 1Blueberries with Lemon Curd. I love blueberries, but I wasn't sure how I would love blueberries with lemon curd. The tartness of the lemon made for a good contrast with the fruit.

photo 2 copy 2Meyer Lemon Meringue Pound Cake was finger licking good!

photo 2 copyToasted Almond Amaretto Crunch. This was by far the best flavor. Absolutely amazing! This was a almond cake that is layered with vanilla mousse. Before you take your first bite, you squeeze the little pipe of Amaretto DiSaronno into the cake. Perfection! I would go back over and over just for this!

photo 2Mocha Macchiato. If you love coffee and chocolate, then you need to order this. This was on the richer side.

photo 3 copy 2Pecan Pie with Vanilla Bean Mousse was also very good.

photo 3Chocolate Peanut Butter Tarte. Personally, I'm not a big fan of peanut butter. Blasphemy! That being said, I still ate this.

photo 4 copyCarrot Cake with Cinnamon Honey. I don't love carrot cake, but the mousse was still very good.

photo 1 copy 2Ghirardelli Chocolate S’more. Wow Ghirardelli! Can you go wrong with s'mores or chocolate? Chocolate overload! Very rich chocolate, but I finished the whole thing!

Overall, I loved the mini indulgence desserts. Every flavor was special and unique. However, if you are only going to order one of these bad boys, make it the Toasted Almond Amaretto Crunch. For a video coverage of my meal, click here to go behind the scenes!
