Sushi Roku 18th Anniversary Specials

Sushi Roku 18th Anniversary Specials

DSC01146Sushi Roku is a hidden in a alleyway in the heart of Old Town Pasadena. They have an array of tasty Japanese fusion items and are constantly coming out with new seasonal/special items at each location. They are currently celebrating their 18th anniversary so they have released some limited edition items that are definitely worth trying!IMG_5560This is Sushi Roku’s 18th anniversary special ume. It features six pieces of sushi: Tuna with avocado, cream cheese, sesame oil, and sesame seed; Yellowtail with salsa fresca, mizore, and arare; Salmon with mango, yuzu foam, ikura, and ponzu; Shrimp with cucumber, amazu, lemon zest, and radish; Halibut with red yuzu kosho, olive oil, sea salt, and micro shiso; and Albacore with garlic nikiri soy, aji amarillo, scallion, and fried onion.DSC01138Hands down the most addicting dish from Sushi Roku is their Nori Senbei, which is basically seaweed with a layer of rice paper fried into delectable crackers paired with a wasabi cream sauce. Oh my goodness. They need to bag this stuff up and start selling it at markets. This must have had some crack in it!IMG_5557Another new item recently added was the Blue Crab Tartare with Santa Barbara uni and caviar served atop a bowl of ice. What a beautiful presentation! I know my followers are big uni lovers so I'd recommend giving Sushi Roku's a try. IMG_5558A treat for the eyes and the stomach!

I also ordered some truffle edamame to munch on as well as their Yellowtail Diced Chilies with olive oil and garlic ponzu, Fluke Kumquat Sashimi with yuzu vinaigrette, a spicy tuna roll, and a fruity Fuji Apple Martini. I love the Pasadena Sushi Roku location because of how hidden it is. It's almost like you're in on a little secret when you dine there. It's also convenient for shopping and hanging out after your meal as theres so much to do! I love taking friends to Pressed Juicery, Pie Hole, 85 Degrees Bakery, Ice Cream Lab, etc. The list goes on and on! I love how much life Old Town Pasadena has and I'm definitely making Sushi Roku one of my regular stops from now on especially after trying those insane Nori Senbei chips. I'm drooling right now just thinking about them. IMG_5563Don't forget to order a chocolate lava cake for dessert!
