Sunset and Dine Returns for 2016

Sunset and Dine Returns for 2016

IMG_3800It's that time of year again! Tickets are now on sale for the fifth annual Sunset and Dine event. Followers of this blog may recall that I've been a long time supporter of the awesome food festival since the very beginning and this year will be no different! So for those that are unfamiliar, Sunset and Dine is a great food festival where guests sample food, wine and beer from 20+ restaurants located near the famous intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Vine Street. Going to the festival is a great way to get to know what new eateries are in the Hollywood area. Tickets are only $35 each and children under 12 are free. From a foodie perspective, you can't go wrong. Each of the participating restaurants pick one or two dishes to represent their restaurant. It's not like some other festivals where each vendor barely gives you anything to eat. Sunset and Dine goes all out and Hollywood eateries want to show off their best. Rest assured, you will go home very full! At the same time, Sunset and Dine always has some great music to jam out to as it is a food festival plus concert all in one. This year's headliner is Gabriel Garzón-Montano, who is a singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist. There's just nothing like having great good with amazing live music. My favorite part about Sunset and Dine, however is that the proceeds go towards a great cause and benefit The Center at Blessed Sacrament. So who will be there?

Wood & Vine

Wood & Vine is located literally right across from the Pantages Theatre. They have a hidden courtyard in the back that is so relaxing. The Chicken & Waffles are amazing and they constantly have new cocktails on the menu.

Smoke's Poutinerie

Smoke's Poutinerie is a Canadian nationwide poutine franchise comprised of fries, cheese Curd and gravy along with other toppings. The Hollywood location is their newest outpost and it's open late. I'm talking 4 am late! Or early... It's the perfect midnight munching food!

The Chocolate Bar

The Chocolate Bar has only been open for a month. They serve croissants, eclairs, sandwiches, and other tasty pastries and of course, chocolate. They are a small mom and pop shop that just moved into Hollywood.

The Pie Hole

The Pie Hole is known for their delicious pies. My favorite flavors are the Mexican Chocolate and the Early Grey. There are multiple Pie Hole locations, but aside from the original Arts District location, the new Hollywood location is my favorite.

These are just a preview of some of the 20+ vendors that will be at Sunset and Dine strutting their stuff. Other confirmed participating restaurants so far include:

WHERE: Blessed Sacrament, 6636 Selma Ave., Hollywood, Calif.
WHEN: Thursday, Sept. 1, 20166-10 p.m.
